Mission

W.O.W is a group of local Pacific NW women who come together in their love of whitewater river running. A highly skilled team of professional river guides, kayakers, and whitewater paddling enthusiasts, our mission is to celebrate our passion through competitive whitewater raft racing. As the only local women's team in the Pacific NW, W.O.W strives to encourage female involvement in the whitewater industry, and be a role model for girls and women in the community.

Together, the women of W.O.W compete on some of the most challenging whitewater rafting rivers in the Pacific NW, racing against both male, female, and co-ed teams.

History

W.O.W was formed in 2010 when Heather Hernandez, a former east coast river guide, wanted to combine her passion for leadership and team development, with her love of whitewater paddling. With the support of her friends on the Oregon Rafting Team, she formed a highly skilled team comprised of professional river guides, kayakers, and whitewater paddling enthusiasts.
